These tanks are poured in place concrete and must maintain an interior temperature of 140 degrees in order to operate properly. Four inches of exterior insulation allows for more efficient temperature control. The tanks are 40 feet high and 40 feet in diameter. Due to the relatively small radius flat stock EPS would not bend enough to attach to the concrete. We had the EPS cut to fit the radius in two layers of 2” staggered at the board joints and attached using Genesis DM using a custom cut notched trowel designed and recommended by Brad Stotts with Dryvit Systems, Inc. The adhesive was applied in vertical ribbons and Drainage strip installed at the bottom termination to allow egress of incidental moisture.
